This page summarizes how personal data is handled in Orbi's Connect (Career) feature. Connect is part of the Orbi platform and is fully covered by the Orbi Privacy Policy, which is the binding document. The information below is provided for transparency and quick reference.
What Connect is
Connect (Career) is an optional feature that lets students share a small set of profile information with companies they choose to connect with. Nothing is shared automatically - a connection is only created when the student takes an explicit action.
Data that stays inside Orbi (used only for the student's own benefit)
These fields are used for filtering and recommendations and are never shared with any company:
Employment type the student is interested in
Geographic locations the student is evaluating jobs and employers in
Data shared with a company when the student connects
When a student actively connects with a company, the following profile data is shared with that company:
Name
Email address
University
Section (faculty)
Study year
Consent is collected separately for each connection, and the student can withdraw a connection at any time from their Orbi profile.
After a connection is made
Once a student has connected, the company becomes an independent Data Controller for the data it has received and applies its own privacy policy. Orbi has a data sharing agreement with every company on Connect that requires GDPR-compliant handling.
Aggregated statistics
Orbi may share aggregated and anonymized statistics - for example views and conversions on a company's content - with companies. These statistics are not personal data and cannot be traced back to an individual student.
Other facts
No CV is stored on Orbi.
No automated decision-making in the sense of GDPR Art. 22 takes place.
Education-related data (such as graduation year) is used inside Orbi to support the feature and is not shared with companies unless explicitly listed above.
